A plain-text export keeps the words and removes presentation. Paragraphs remain readable, while table rows are represented as text. The output uses UTF-8 so ordinary punctuation and international characters work in modern text editors.
What plain text leaves behind
TXT cannot store fonts, colours, page layout, images, comments, footnotes or tracked-change formatting. Use it when the words matter more than the visual document.
Useful plain-text workflows
Text files are convenient for search indexes, writing tools, code editors, data cleaning and applications that do not understand Word documents. For a web-ready structure instead, use DOCX to HTML.
